Celebrating Thetford Through Art
Exclusive limited edition prints by local artist Emily Chapman, commissioned by Leaping Hare
At Leaping Hare, we’re passionate about celebrating the creativity, stories and people that make our town so special.
That’s why we’re proud to work with local artist Emily Chapman to create a growing collection of exclusive limited edition prints inspired by Thetford.
Emily’s bright, colourful style captures far more than familiar buildings and beautiful landscapes. Her paintings celebrate the character of a place, the people who belong there and the memories that make somewhere feel like home.
As Emily says:
“Art made locally has the energy of the place and the people that live there. Nothing can replace this and the feelings of belonging to the community and the larger environment.”
We couldn’t agree more.
Whether you’re looking for artwork for your home, office or workplace, or searching for a meaningful gift with a genuine connection to Thetford, we hope you’ll love these two very special paintings. Both Everything Thetford and A Walk with Dave are available as limited editions of just 200 prints, individually produced exclusively for Leaping Hare.

The Collection – A Walk with Dave
A story woven into Thetford

Emily has been friends with Dave and Sue Riggs for many years.
Long before Emily became known for her colourful paintings, Sue was one of her earliest supporters, commissioning several of her original paintings.
After the sad loss of Dave in September 2025, Emily wanted to honour her dear friend in the way she knew best—through her art.
Rather than painting a portrait, Emily chose to celebrate Dave by painting the town he loved
Look closely and you’ll spot Dave and Sue walking together across the Town Bridge, gently woven into the scene.
For those who didn’t know Dave, A Walk with Dave is simply a beautiful painting of Thetford.
For those who did, it’s a gentle reminder of a man affectionately known as the “Mayor of Magdalen Street”—a devoted husband, dad, Pop, loyal friend and one of Thetford’s best-loved characters.
It’s a painting that celebrates friendship, community and a life well lived.
Did you notice…?
Look a little closer and you’ll discover:
• Dave and Sue walking across the Town Bridge
• The Bell Inn
• St Peter’s Church
• The former Thetford Home Guard Headquarters
Together they tell the story of a much-loved local character and the town he called home.
