We go above and Beyond

Leaping Hare’s mission is to enhance Thetford’s sense of identity, raise civic pride, encourage community cohesion and to promote Thetford to the world.

Everything you need to know about Thetford is right here: what to see and do, where to stay and where to eat and drink, how Thetford’s history has shaped the town we know today

Who are we?

For a decade, Leaping Hare has been a fundamental part of the town of Thetford. We have created an essential hub where residents and visitors can find out about everything that’s going on in the town.

The founders initially came together during the creation of the Dad’s Army museum in 2007 (which attracts more than 10,000 visitors each year). Passionate Thetfordians, they knew that the town had a wider story to tell, and formed a Community Interest Company to re-establish and sustain the tourist information centre.

Of course, that requires ongoing funding, so Leaping Hare set up events, services and sold local merchandise. We went on to create the box office service and online directories, bringing the information about local businesses out of the shop and on to the internet.

Leaping Hare’s experience places the company at the heart of Thetford’s community, and its team works hard to support the people and economy of Thetford, as well as promoting the town far and wide.
