Bring the Gruffalo and other characters to life with our brand new Gruffalo Spotters trail and exciting augmented reality app.
Download The Gruffalo Spotter app at home, then visit High Lodge, Thetford Forest. Along the trail look out for clues which lead to footprint marker posts – point the app at these and watch Mouse, Fox, Owl, Snake and the Gruffalo appear before your eyes!
Gruffalo trail dates and information
The trail is open from the 13th March 2017. It is aimed at younger children, but the whole family can enjoy following clues and collecting evidence. Download the app before you visit and point it at the markers to bring the characters to life! You can find the start of the trail by the front of the Wildplay area (signposted from High Lodge Information Point) and it is about 1 mile in length.
Set out on your Gruffalo Spotting adventure with the Gruffalo Activity Kit! The kit contains an evidence collection bag, 5 fact and activity cards, stickers of the Gruffalo characters, a special magnifying glass, ruler and a pencil! Buy your activity pack from The Information Point, High Lodge for just £3.
The trail and the app are free of charge, but we ask that visitors pay to park in the forest. You’ll find space at the High Lodge Visitor Centre; site entry fees apply depending on the length of your stay; £2.20 per hour up to 5hrs, or £11.50 all day (+5hrs).
Some of the trails are shared usage, please be aware of other visitors. Trail may be muddy in places.
