  • The University of the Third Age (U3A) movement is an Worldwide organisation which provides, through local U3As, life-enhancing and life-changing opportunities for retired and semi-retired people. Members come together and learn together, not for qualifications but for the sheer joy of discovery!

In the UK, there are nearly 1000 local U3As and Thetford U3A has around 350 members from communities in and around Thetford. We did consider calling it “Brecks U3A” as the area covered is more or less The Brecks in South West Norfolk.

Thetford U3A started in 2014 and seems to be going from strength to strength. It is a registered charity and is wholly dependent upon volunteers. We have monthly meeting in the Carnegie Room (opposite the Library) on the fourth Thursday of each month at 2pm. Meetings are free for members to attend. Most meetings are also open to non-members for a small fee of £2, so anyone can come along to find out more.

If you are interested in joining Thetford U3A or renewing your membership, you can either come to one of the meetings or you can download a Membership Form from our website. The annual membership fee is £20.
