To improve mental health and wellbeing among young people in Breckland Young Commissioners completed training in Youth Mental Health First Aid.
We went on to train frontline professionals who work with young people, and will be training other young people.
We are working with Dr Bianca Finger-Berry from Norfolk County Council to shape school support for young people who self-harm, and with CAMHS and NSFT to improve NHS mental health provision for young people in Norfolk.
Young Commissioners sat on the Experts by Experience Panel at the Clinical Research Network Eastern Child & Youth Research Collaboration Event at Girton College, and are part of the steering group for the READY trial, a new 5-year research project exploring the relationship between clinical depression and exercise.
Young Commissioners have been involved with the CAMHS Redesign and with the UEA and NSFT Knowledge and Implementation work around young people’s mental health services in Norfolk to ensure that young people’s voices shape service provision and evaluation.
