The Benjamin Foundation

Social Action Sleep Out

To celebrate the #iwill social action week The Benjamin Foundation will be holding a sleep out taking place on Friday 25th November 2016 7:15pm – 8:30am to raise awareness of homelessness and raise funds for the repairs at the Meet Up café.

We are expecting around 20 young people aged 8-12. All young people need to collect a minimum of £15 each in sponsors to take part. There will be no Wi-Fi for the duration of the event and it is expected to be quite cold! The young people will take part in various related activities including ‘building’ their bed for the night using cardboard boxes and discussing what ‘home’ means to them. Young people will also participate in the ‘bags of kindness activity’ where they will fill bags with donated essentials for those in need and experiencing homelessness. These bags of kindness will be delivered at a later date nearer Christmas during a separate event.
